養魚換水就是要把硝酸鹽換掉一部份(有的是1/3)，有的是換掉1/2的水。但是硝酸鹽永遠存在，除非把全部水都換掉、不過新的硝酸鹽又會立即產生(永遠換不完)。硝酸鹽會傷害魚的健康，影響魚的生命。所以養魚一定要換水就變成一種共識，無法改變。

雖然換水可以減少硝酸鹽的量、但也會改變水質、對魚又是傷害。所以免換水生態魚缸不是噱頭、不是呼口號，是為了水草魚缸的需要而產生的，是為了魚的生存環境而設計的。硝酸鹽不累積、水質穩定，魚健康的活存、色澤漂亮(愛魚者不需常跑魚店買魚)

懶人缸相信自然生態魚缸一定存在，而且是最理想的水草魚缸。
