種水草的位置是依據光譜的範圍及生長快慢來做規劃，一般人是以前、中、背景草來做區分，其實是一樣的原理。懶人缸的水草造景有自己的風格、獨特的生態系統、專業的種草技術，才能成就水草造景的真正價值，如果水草不漂亮、說造景只是空談了。水草種在那裡才會長的好，先要考慮光譜的長度到那裡，我們的招牌草(鹿角苔)就很明顯，同一個六尺缸、造景變來變去，鹿角苔始終在那裡。

為什麼、因為那個位置光譜最強，鹿角苔是陽性水草、需要充足的光譜才能行光合作用，又為什麼種的特別低，因為要測量燈管的光譜有沒有衰光，如果水質很好、鹿角苔沒氣泡了，燈管也用了二年多，這個時候可以換燈管了。大部份業者說燈管一年就會衰光必須更換、是錯誤的說法(還有很多其它錯誤的做法，誤導大家、浪費金錢)。
