小型的過濾器(外掛或放置桌面)、經過改裝，可以達到中型過濾器的效果，應用於大2尺到3尺的魚缸。花1500元拼裝後有3000～5000元桶式過濾的功能，值得各位朋友試試看。過濾器的價錢有高有低，濾材種類也很多，只要能過濾雜質又不漏氣的、都是好的過濾器。1千5的跟5千、8千的有什麼差別，如果水草種不漂亮、魚常死，就算用日本幾萬塊的過濾器，也是沒有意義(通常過濾器都放在看不到的地方、外殼再漂亮也沒用)。

能有效過濾魚缸水裡的雜質、就算是不錯的過濾器，又能讓水的循環達到良好的過程(出水口與入水口在相對位置)，整個魚缸的水有大循環效果，是一個基本的要求。如果濾材可以清洗後永久使用，環保又省錢。各項零組件維修容易、保養輕鬆，使用者會喜歡這樣的設計。
