水草造景缸的造景石、常常會長滿一些藻類，有絲藻、球藻、綠藻、黑毛藻...等等，不但會影響造景的觀瞻、還會影響水草的生長，所以也是要定期清洗一翻。方法很簡單，用稀鹽酸清洗、或是家用漂白劑(漂白水)清洗，步驟一:自缸中取出造景石，放置室外水源附近的地上，步驟二: 鹽酸或是漂白水、由造景石頂慢慢澆下(一到三次)，閒置十分鐘後，步驟三:以清水沖洗造景石(多次)，如果造景石上沒有藻類了，就可以曬乾後放置缸中。如果還有藻類沒有清除掉，可再以少量鹽酸或是漂白水清洗、或以鋼刷清除。
