皇冠草相似的種類、有鐵皇冠、廣葉皇冠、一般的皇冠草，原生地在南美洲、屬陰性水草類(適應低溫水草缸)，繁殖的方式以發新芽來培養族群，由於生長速度非常緩慢，要看到發芽是不容易的情況。有時候一株莖好幾個節、發出新芽，只要從節的下方剪斷、將整株新芽種回砂裡，就又多了一棵水草。
